Let’s talk filler

Fillers…..they are all the same, right? No! Currently, we have two types of fillers: HA (hyaluronic acid) and Derma PRP (platelet rich plasma) fillers.

HA fillers are created in a manufacturing facility and shipped to us at Higher Self Aesthetics. Derma PRP fillers are created IN OUR OFFICE! We draw your blood, place it in a centrifuge, then in a heating device followed by a cooling device. This creates your very own customized filler.

What is the difference between the two fillers?

HA filler is stabilized into a gel using a cross-linking technology. This filler gives you more volume.

Derma PRP filler is a biologic. It falls under the umbrella of Regenerative Aesthetics. This filler has platelet derived growth factors that improve the quality of your skin AND gives you more volume.

Where can I put filler?

The temples (the area just lateral to your eyes), tear troughs (under eye bags), cheeks, lips, jawline, and hands.

Why would I get filler?

Fillers are used for two reasons: someone who wants more volume (i.e. larger lips) or someone who wants to replenish the lost volume (i.e. temples that become sunken due to age).

Which filler should I get?

Patients who are looking to add more volume should consider HA filler. Patients who have a loss of volume, wrinkles and/or loss of elastin/collagen, should consider Derma PRP fillers because it will improve the loss of volume AND stimulate elastin/collagen in the skin due to age. Essentially, this is a 2 for 1!
